We summarised the most frequently asked questions about the registration for Deutsche Handelsbank Electronic Banking for you.

The app is the right authorization method for you if you only have access to account of only one company. You can also use the Mobile Token App to log on to Deutsche Handelsbank Electronic Banking from anywhere - provided you have your smartphone at hand.

If you are authorized to act on accounts of different companies and have therefore received several access data letters, then it is best to install the Desktop Token App and carry out the registration process with it.

Our desktop token app is the right authorisation method for you either if you do not have a smartphone or if you are authorized to represent accounts of different companies. Only by using the desktop token app you are able to manage multiple accesses for different companies and thus different EBICS key pairs.

Unfortunately, that does not work. According to the EBICS specification, the bank is obliged to secure data exchange with its customers. This protection is guaranteed with data encryption. With your access data, you are clearly identifiable for the bank and can only generate a key pair that matches the key of the bank. The procedure is only for your safety.

Please contact ebanking.support@handelsbank.com. So that you can use a new authentication method, we have to reset your electronic banking access and you have to register again from the very start. This is necessary because we need your unique key pair for activation again.

As usual, send the INI letter signed by you as a participant to ebanking.ini@handelsbank.com. Within 48 hours we will activate your access to the Deutsche Handelsbank Electronic Banking.

Orders can only be placed by the customer or his authorized representative via the EBICS connection. If your secretary is authorized to use your account, she has already received her personal access data and can register for electronic banking.

If she has not yet been authorized, then fill out the right of representation and the modification form for the Deutsche Handelsbank Electronic Banking. Please send both forms to support@handelsbank.com. Your secretary will then receive the access data to her private address by post.

Please refrain from passing on your access data. On the one hand, the technical use of two authentication methods (mobile token app and desktop token app) does not work due to data encryption. On the other hand, you are trading against our terms and conditions, which you accepted when you opened your account. You are obliged to ensure that no other person comes into possession of the authentication medium and / or that he or she gains knowledge of the password used to protect it. In addition, we are not allowed to give any information about the account to an unauthorized person and therefore not to help them with problems with the Deutsche Handelsbank electronic banking.

After you have completed the registration process and generated the INI letter, the Mobile and Desktop Token app will ask you to enter your password. If you enter this, an error message appears that your access data is incorrect. This is a known bug that we are working hard to fix.

We ask you to wait for the password to be entered as long as you have not received an email from the bank confirming the activation. A login to the Deutsche Handelsbank Electronic Banking is only possible with the confirmation of the bank and thus also the password input in the mobile or desktop token app.

You can enter your password incorrectly five times, after which your access will be blocked for security reasons. Please contact for renewed activation

If you can no longer remember the password that you assigned when you registered for Deutsch Handelsbank Electronic Banking in your chosen authorization method, please contact ebanking.supoort@handelsbank.com. We will then reset your access. To ensure that everything runs smoothly, you must first reset your chosen authorization method and then go through the registration process again completely. We can no longer use the INI letter created for the first time, because then the key pairs no longer match.

The most important functions of Deutsche Handelsbank Electronic Banking at a glance

You have successfully registered and have received confirmation of your registration from us by email. Now it can start!

We have put together a small starter package so that you can immediately find your way around the Deutsche Handelsbank Electronic Banking.


After you have received confirmation of your registration by email from us, you can log in. To do so you will need your token on your mobile phone and a browser on your laptop/PC.

  1. Open up your browser on your Laptop/PC and navigate to Electronic banking on our website, or click here.
     
  2. Simultaneously, open up the Mobile Token App on your phone and log in with your password. This is the same password you created while setting up the mobile token.
     
  3. If both your app and the browser window is open, a camera window should appear inside of your app. With that camera, you can scan the QR-code displayed in your browser. If that does not work you can enter the code that appears underneath Access code.
     
  4. You have now successfully logged into your ebanking account. After logging in you will need your app to confirm payments. Everything else can be controlled inside your browser.

Login Electronic Banking

After you have received confirmation of your registration by email from us, you can log in. To do so you will need your desktop token app and a browser on your laptop/PC. It is important to use the same PC with which the desktop token was set up.

  1. Open up your browser on your Laptop/PC and navigate to Electronic banking on our website, or click here. Please note that this PC needs to be the same one you set up your desktop token with.
     
  2. Click on the symbol with the label „Software Token“ underneath desktop. Now the desktop token software opens on your device.
     
  3. Log into the just-opened application with your password. This is the same password you created while setting up the desktop token.
     
  4. You have now successfully logged into your ebanking account. After logging in you will only need your desktop application to confirm payments, everything else can be controlled inside your browser.

Login Electronic Banking

 

After successfully logging in, you will reach the dashboard of our electronic banking system. The value balance of your accounts, messages from us, or new documents in your mailbox, such as account statements, can be seen from here.

Furthermore, you can view orders waiting for authorization and their amount (Open payments). Using the widget Payment Creation you can manually set a credit transfer or direct debit.

You will find an overview of your transactions by navigating to Cash Management – Transactions. Here you can see all of your account turnovers separately. Besides using various filters, you are also able to customize your view by changing your sorting options, or by disabling certain elements.

The remote authorisation allows authorised users to electronically sign files concerning transactions and payments submitted to the bank. These files can be signed from different locations and devices (e.g. Laptop). Remote authorisation supports first and second signatures and is, therefore, following the signature hierarchy. 

In the Deutsche Handelsbank Electronic Banking, you will find files concerning transactions and payments which are ready to be signed by navigating to Payments – Remote Authorisation.

Payments awaiting their first or second signature can be found in the overview of transmitted payments along with the status “awaiting electronic signature“.

The Deutsche Handelsbank Electronic Banking offers multiple options to access information regarding account statements (MT940) or intraday reports (MT942).

The original files MT940 and MT942 can be accessed by navigating to Cash Management – Bank files.

This information can also be downloaded under Account Statements or intraday reports, by clicking on Account statements details and selecting the requested data. To keep the original format in place, kindly note that Original data needs to be selected as File format/conversion.

The Deutsche Handelsbank Electronic Banking is available in English and German.
You can switch the language by changing your browser language in the settings of your browser (procedure differs depending on the browser you use e.g Firefox). If you select German as your browser language, your electronic banking will be displayed in German. If you select any language other than German, your electronic banking will be displayed in English.

Unfortunately that is not possible. If you are authorized for multiple accounts, you have received an individual customer ID and user Id for each one from us. With them, you can register or log in for each company separately. That means you cannot access all of your companies with only one login.
